Privacy Policy

Triplist is pre-launch. This policy is a working draft published so the site is complete. It will be finalized and legally reviewed before the app is released.

Triplist LLC ("Triplist", "we") builds a travel app that turns your photo library into a digital passport and helps you plan trips. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what control you have.

What we collect

Photo location data. With your permission, Triplist reads the location metadata already stored in your photo library to work out which countries, cities, and attractions you've visited. We read this metadata to build your passport — we do not upload your photos themselves.
Account details. Your email address, first name, and profile photo, provided when you sign up.
Travel data. The places you mark as visited (including any rating you give them), your wishlist, and the itineraries you create.
Usage data. Basic diagnostic and analytics information about how the app and website are used.

How we use it

To build and display your digital passport.
To generate personalized itineraries. When you request an AI-generated Triplist, the destination and your stated preferences are sent to our AI provider to write the itinerary text. Your photos are never sent.
To operate your account, provide support, and improve the product.

What we share

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run Triplist — hosting and database infrastructure, AI itinerary generation, and analytics — and only as needed to provide the service. We may also disclose data where legally required.

What you make public

Itineraries you publish, and any profile or passport page you choose to share, are publicly viewable by anyone with the link and may be indexed by search engines. You can make published content anonymous, which replaces your name and photo with a generic identity. Everything else in your account is private by default.

Your choices and rights

You can revoke photo library access at any time in your device settings.
You can request a copy of your data, correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its contents.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.

Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data and travel history, except where we are required to retain records by law.

Children

Triplist is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes

We'll update this policy as the product evolves and will revise the date above when we do. Material changes will be communicated in the app.
